McGill is seeking participants for a research study that aims to co-create the first comprehensive definition of pain-related suffering shaped directly by people living with pain. This study is part of a line of research which aims to inform the development of clinical interventions that help recognize and alleviate suffering among people living with pain.
They would greatly appreciate it if you would consider taking part in their study. To participate, you must: be 18 years of age or older, be living with persistent pain (pain lasting over 3 months), be fluent in English (reading, verbal, expression, and comprehension), and able to participate in online audio-visual calls (Zoom).
They are looking for people who fulfill one or more of the following criteria, as they seek to involve people living with pain with diverse experiences.
- Men
- People who speak a language other than English as their mother tongue (who are fluent in English)
- People of colour (diverse ethnicities, including Asian, Black, Latinx, Middle Eastern, Pacific Island, and South Asian)
- Indigenous people (including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people)
- People living in rural areas
- Young adults [18 – 35 years old]
- People with a special interest in chronic pain
