Fibromyalgia Association Canada (FAC) is pleased to present to our members our Fall issue of “JUST THE FAC’s”. Since “JUST THE FAC’s” editor lives on the East Coast, FAC’s September issue was delayed by the arrival of Hurricane Fiona and is now our very first Fall Edition. To accommodate our health condition, FAC’s Board feels it would be better to have some leeway with “JUST THE FAC’s” deadlines, by having a Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer edition.

FAC would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge that Saturday, November 19, is International Men’s Day to all men suffering with fibromyalgia!

Your Board and Committee members have been very busy since FAC’s last newsletter in June with Fibromyalgia Awareness Week and Fibromyalgia Association Canada’s first Annual General Meeting. Thank you to all who attended and for all the great feedback.

At the request of our members the “FACes of Fibromyalgia Campaign” is going to continue, so if you have not already done so, please send us your face to help make fibromyalgia visible.

FAC had planned to have contacted everyone who expressed a wish to volunteer with FAC, this summer. Unfortunately most of our Board and Committee members contacted Covid or spent the summer in a flare as a result of the high humidity across Canada. We are in the process of catching up and if you wished to volunteer we will be contacting you soon.

If you know someone with fibromyalgia, or have a sympathetic friend or family member, please encourage them to join FAC because together we are stronger – membership is free. The larger our Association, the louder our voice and the more recognition for fibromyalgia we will receive. They can join at https://fibrocanada.ca/members/

Many voices are needed to build ONE unified national voice.

We hope you enjoy your newsletter and please feel free to share it.

Yours truly
Trudy Flynn
