Purpose:
- To raise awareness that fibromyalgia is a life-altering chronic illness
- To address and reduce stigmas and stereotypes and to influence changes in attitudes, behaviours, and beliefts toward fibromyalgia
- To raise awareness of fibromyalgia through national campaigns
- To develop social media campaigns in collaboration with the other committees; and
- To invite opportunities to work with national and fibromyalgia-related communities, marginalized and vulnerable communities such as veterans, Indigenous, youth and young adults, and work together to increase awareness of fibromyalgia
Membership:
FAC’s Awareness Committee is comprised of members who:
- Bring a variety of lived experiences, skills, abilities, and networks to help advance the work of FAC
- Bring diversity of the Awareness Committee with respect to age, location, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, and culture as the Committee strives to be broadly reflective of the fibromyalgia community
Meetings:
The FAC Awareness Committee will meet virtually via Zoom for 1½ hours at 2:30pm EST the third Tuesday of every month. Closed captioning is also be available
